Lumu Launches Kickstarter To Fund Its Digital Light Meter For iPhone-Owning Photographers
Last we saw Lumu Labs it was in Hardware Alley at Disrupt New York where the Slovenian startup was showing off a prototype of its digital light meter plus iPhone app -- aiming to convince photographers to replace "bulky" traditional light meters with a pocketable gizmo that plugs into their iPhone. Now, Lumu Labs has just kicked off its Kickstarter campaign, aiming to raise $20,000.

eBay Gets Physical With A Street-Side Sales Kiosk For Kate Spade Saturday
On the heels of eBay CEO John Donahoe’s statement at TC Disrupt in April that the company would be using mobile technology to push further into offline commerce, eBay’s Retail Innovation team unveiled its second project: four pop-up storefronts created for the fashion line Kate Spade Saturday that will be live from June 8 to July 7. Using a touch screen on the store window, shoppers can select a product and schedule one-hour delivery via text message.

First Cut Pro Just Made Post-Production Collaborative Video Editing Much Less Painful
Editing video is tedious enough on its own, but it becomes a whole new world of pain when producers, editors, audio guys, and others are trying to collaborate on a single project. That's where First Cut Pro (not to be confused with Final Cut Pro) comes in. The software comes out of Austin, where the company won our TC Meetup + Pitch-off Competition, meaning that the First Cut Pro guys will be ready to roll at TC Disrupt SF in September.

TechCrunch In The Balkans
Are you in Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, or Slovenia? Have I got a treat for you. In an effort to spread the good word about TC in the rest of Europe, I will be rolling through Sofia, Belgrade, Zagreb, and Ljubljana at the beginning of July for a series of informal meet-ups. If you’re in those cities, I want you to attend! Assisting in the planning is Netokracija / Netocratic, the “TechCrunch of Southeast Europe.” They will provide us with locations and more specific timing but as it stands we expect to have some free beer, lots of sunshine, and a great chance to talk about your startup in an informal setting. We’ll also be scouting for Disrupt entrants for Disrupt Berlin in October. These will be informal meetups where I’ll talk a little bit about TechCrunch and getting the attention of media outside your own country and we can talk startups, entrepreneurship, and funding all night long. To RSVP for Sofia on July 1 click here. Co-hosted by Netokracija / Netocratic & Eleven To ...
