Lenovo Could Take Over RIM
judgecorp writes "China's Lenovo could take over RIM, according to Lenovo chief financial officer Wong Mai Ming speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland. The Canadian authorities might object, and so might BlackBerry users, after what ultimately happened to the ThinkPad brand under Lenovo's guidance. Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said, 'It’s something that we would look carefully at. We always look at foreign investment in Canada as a cause for reflection. We have to look at intelligence concerns.'"

Ticketing Startup SeatGeek Brings Its Interactive Stadium Maps To The iPhone
SeatGeek, which aggregates tickets from resale sites like StubHub, just launched its first iPhone app, one that allows users to browse interactive maps as they try to find the best deals. When SeatGeek raised funding back in August, the stated reason was to "build a really great mobile app." Co-founder Russell D'Souza and Director of Communications Will Flaherty stopped by the TechCrunch office yesterday to results of their work. The functionality should be pretty familiar to SeatGeek web users — you can search for tickets based on the performer, event, or venue. Then when you've found the event that you're looking for, you can bring up a map showing where the different tickets would locate you, zoom in on any part of the map (usually surfacing more tickets as you do), then tap to buy.

SeatGeek Isn’t Just About Secondary Ticketing Anymore, Thanks To Ticketfly Partnership
SeatGeek aims to become the definitive search engine for live events, but until now, the tickets available on the site only came from secondary resale sites like StubHub — in other words, if a ticket was going to show up on SeatGeek, someone else had to buy it first and then try to resell it. Now, however, SeatGeek users can purchase tickets directly from the venues, thanks to a partnership with ticketing startup Ticketfly. The integration actually went live last week, says SeatGeek's director of communications Will Flaherty. If you look up an event on SeatGeek and there are tickets available via Ticketfly, a Ticketfly "Official Box Office" button will appear above all the other search results. Eventually, Flaherty says SeatGeek should be able to display more information from Ticketly, such as pricing.
